Yes, folks, we have doors!
A pair of mighty fine doors that open and close and can be locked and once they are trimmed out will even be weather-tight!
Yeah, I’m a little excited.
I also made a new friend today. I was working on the anchors and discovered that someone had moved into one of the holes.
I had to encourage him to move out so I wouldn’t squish him while trying to drive in the anchor. I now have three of the four anchors driven in with the straps attached.
I also had to mow, so I tried firing up the mower. No dice. I finally decided that it might be a battery issue, so I grabbed a car battery and gave the mower a jump. It fired right up. It still needs a new starter, but it’s good to know that I can get it running if needed.
As a final hurrah for the day, a couple of interesting aircraft flew over.
Two different powered paraglider trikes. That first one looked rigged for tandem. The skies were overcast and the winds low, so it was perfect for these guys. I spotted a fellow flying a standard paramotor (foot launch) several times, but I haven’t seen him in four or five years. Perhaps he found a buddy and upgraded.
I need to get out and fly.

Good job spotting the toad before it was too late. I hate accidentally killing critters with a lawn mower. Or my Jeep.
I once deliberately ran over a crippled bird in the road that was clearly dying , and it still bugs me.

I have two incidents that I’ll never forget. The first was hitting a turtle with the mower on my mom’s property. The property was a mix of woods and tall-grass prairie, the latter of which is aptly named when it isn’t mowed regularly. The grass was up to my waist. I had the deck set high, so when I hit the turtle, the blades just skimmed the top of the shell. Most people don’t realize that’s their spine. Now I had a crippled turtle on my hands and I had to put it out of its misery. Poor turtle.
The second was a kitten. I’m not sure where it was hiding, but I saw it fall out of the left-front wheel well of a truck heading toward me on a two-lane highway. It landed on its feet and was sliding into my lane. I didn’t have any room to dodge either left or right, so I ended up hitting it with the left tires. At least it was quick.
Dang, now I’m sad.

Ugh, yeah, I have too many turtle stories, and while most don’t come out sad, there are definitely some bad ones.
I keep gloves with me in the Jeep specifically for turtles, ever since one cut me with its tail as I rescued it and made me nervous about salmonella.

Noo! :(
I hit a lizard hiding along the fence with a line trimmer, even got some blood on my safety glasses.
Not too long ago I hit a snake with a line trimmer, he got caught up around the spool and flew... lol

Oof. If it were the wrong kind of snake flying in the wrong direction, that could have been bad.

I’m glad I’ve not been too empathic about the vertebrate animals that have died under the wheels, in the grilles or across the windscreens of the various vehicles I have controlled over the years. There have been hundreds....and I'd be a blubbering wreck.

I do like the proportions.

Thanks! They’ll look better once I get them trimmed out. My wife relented and told me to move forward with the vinyl siding. Now I have to get into the attic and find the spare pieces so I can get the manufacturer and model number to match the house.

Thanks. The smaller door gives the extra room necessary to get the mower inside. I offset the doors to the right to make room for deeper shelves and a workbench on the left side.
